Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
Hello guys and dolls! Thanks for dropping by my page. So today I’ll be reviewing the highly raved Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. Is it a HIT or a MISS? Read until the end of this post 😉
If you know me in person, I am not really used to water-based remover. Most of the time I used oil + wet wipes to remove my makeup and my cleanser after to double cleanse my skin. The only water based make up remover I’ve tried before is only Biore Micellar Cleansing Water.
They are micelles, apparently act as a magnet, that attracted to dirt and oil so they are able to draw out the impurities without irritating or drying out the skin.
Alright back to the topic..
So few months back at Watsons, I decided to try some new products. One of them is Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. I chose it because it was on sale so I thought it was about time for me to give it a try! It was RM 22 something (the price is unchanged still, if I’m not mistaken). 400 ml of micellar water for only RM 20 ish, I mean siapa tak nak? Hehe
Here’s a little info on the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
Retails at RM 29 (NP)
Suitable for all skin types, even for sensitive skin
Removes makeup, cleanses and soothes skin – no rinse off required
For face, eyes, and lips
No perfume
Dermatologically and ophtalmologically tested
400 ml = 200 uses
Ingredients : Aqua/water, Hexylene Glycol, Glycerin, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Disodium edta, poloxamer 184, polyaminopropyl biguanide (B162919/4)
For face makeup, I usually put a few drops of micellar water on cotton pad and wipe off the makeup. Meanwhile for lips and eyes, I gently press and hold it for few seconds before I wipe it off.
The pink packaging makes the bottle even cuter! I like it. I would appreciate more if it comes in pump bottle (like Biore Micellar Cleansing Water) rather than this one.
To be honest, it soothes and never dries out my skin. I like that cool feeling it gives me right after I use this. However, it does not work really well at removing make up especially waterproof make up (here’s why I prefer oil based remover anyway). To be frank, it takes more time to remove my eye make up and lipstick with this one, especially on the day I use super matte and waterproof liquid lipstick, mascara and eyeliner – I ended up using oil based remover at the end to remove those panda eyes. Nonetheless, it still works great at removing non waterproof makeup products 🙂
It says ‘no rinse’ on the bottle but whenever I rinse I could still see the dirty water streaming down my face. I still need to double cleanse and tone afterwards. That is not a big issue for me because I always double cleanse my face after I take off my makeup.
The best thing about this remover is, it never dries or irritates my skin. I always feel comfortable with this one 🙂
Well, would I repurchase? Uhm..I think I would not because I keep changing my make up removing routine (until I find the best-est one that really works!) – I have been eyeing on Purederm Make Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes though hehe it could be next!
